Origin
The Division of Training
and Promotion was established
in 2002 when The National
Science Council (NSC)
consolidated former digitization
projects and formally
started the National Digital
Archives Program (NDAP),
which acknowledges the
importance of training
digital archive personnel
and of promoting the use
of resources developed
by NDAP.
Goals
1. To promote the concept
and skills of digitization;
to train digital archive
personnel with necessary
skills and experience.
2. To promote the exchange
of ideas and digital archive-related
experience between institutions
and industry.
3. To promote the exchange
of ideas and the sharing
of experiences among professionals
both nationally and internationally.
4. To achieve equal opportunities
of learning through easy
access of resources by
integrating digital archives
into teachers¡¦instructional
resources at all levels
of schooling.
5. To promote the understanding
and use of NDAP among
the general public; to
encourage lifelong learning
and elevate the knowledge
level and competency of
our human resources.
6. To gather the information
needs of users by conducting
user studies; to evaluate
the achievements of promotion
activities and
formative evaluation data
provided to digitization
institutions.
7. To further disseminate
the output of NDAP to
the general public and
increase awareness of
the importance of digitizing
our
cultural heritages.
